Crowd Connected reports significant uptick as preparations for ‘return to live’ gather pace

• Increased demand from organisers in monitoring and measuring real-time visitor behaviour at face-to-face events.

• Company has already sealed licence deals with a broad selection of business and consumer events scheduled for later in the year.

• New partnerships are also being inked as momentum builds.

[London, UK 1 April 2021] Crowd Connected, whose visitor tracking technology enables events and venues to capture, understand and influence the entire attendee experience, reports growing evidence of a gearing up for the ‘return to live’.

As event organisers and venue operators prepare to reopen their doors after more than a year of COVID enforced hiatus, attention is increasingly focused on new challenges of a post pandemic world. These include adhering to new regulations while optimising the visitor experience, reassuring visitors of the safety of the environment, or delivering against commercial partnership obligations.

Mark Maydon, Crowd Connected’s Commercial Director, commented: “It’s been documented ad infinitum how COVID created a spike in demand for virtual event technologies. What we’re now seeing is increased demand from physical events for digital tools – whether that’s for a contactless experience, for paper-less sustainability, or for data and insight.”

Crowd Connected’s award-winning platform gathers data on visitor movement on a fully opted-in basis through code integrated into an event or venue’s official mobile app. This data is processed in real time to deliver location-based analytics and engagement solutions.

The rapidly growing list of new Crowd Connected licensees for 2021 features leading names in sport (soccer, cricket, horse racing and motorsport), entertainment (immersive venues, festivals) and business events (corporate, trade shows).

The last-named category includes International Confex, the leading event industry trade show which will be showcasing Crowd Connected’s platform when it returns in June. This will be the first large scale trade show event at ExCeL London after the full lifting of COVID restrictions, assuming the government roadmap remains on track.

Crowd Connected’s global success has been forged on a number of valuable partnerships with event technology providers across multiple territories, particularly vendors of mobile apps.

Robin Van den Bergh, Managing Director of Belgian-based Appmiral, a long-standing app vendor partner of Crowd Connected, said: “Event organisers are now alive to the need to invest in a digital connection with their communities. What was once optional has become essential, our platform has evolved in a rapid pace from a classic event app to a year-round engagement tool. When we return to live in the coming months the combination of location analytics and personalisation coming from Crowd Connected’s pre-integrated technology will be a key element in our offering.”

Events in 2021 taking an Appmiral app with Crowd Connected location services include the Dutch Formula 1 Grand Prix, Saudi Arabia’s leading music festival MDL Beast and the pan-European music conference, Eurosonic Noorderslag.

Maydon added: “As well as app vendors, we’re also in advanced partnership discussions with a much wider selection of digital service providers than pre-COVID. These include indoor mapping providers, personalised journey planning applications, mobile commerce and audience engagement platforms. We expect to be making further announcements of new partnerships in the coming weeks.”
